About the NCT

The NCT is the largest and best known childbirth and parenting charity in Europe and is run by parents for parents. We are the voice of parents on antenatal, birth and postnatal issues. We provide a range of quality educational and support services for parents at a local level and promote the principal of informed choice for women and their partners.

You might not have known for example that:

If as a father you were present at the birth of your child, it was largely the NCT's pioneering work that made it possible
It is the NCT that leads the campaign to halt the rise in unnecessary caesarean births
The NCT seeks to make sure that every woman has a midwife she gets to know and can trust
It was the campaigning work carried out by the NCT that challenged and changed the belief that babies should be taken away from their mother into a nursery after birth

The NCT is a registered charity (registered number 801395) and a membership organisation with over 40,000 members across the UK.
